״ניקוי רעלים נצחי״ הינו מיצג חוויתי על שפע העקבות שאנו משאירים מאחורינו כשאנו מתים, והשאלה הגדולה שבה על קרובינו לדון בנוגע למה לשמור ומה למחוק. לאחר הזעזוע והיגון של אובדן פתאומי זו משימה לא קלה להיות אחראים למורשת כגון אוספים גדולים של מיני חפצים וכמות עצומה של מידע דיגיטלי. להיות הגיוניים במצב כזה הינה בהחלט החלטה לא קלה עבור אדם באבל אשר נאלץ לפעול במהירות, ויתרה מכך לא קל כשמתחרטים על החלטות אלו בחלוף הזמן. הנושא האוניברסלי מפורש על ידי האמנים האחים בשילוב ייחודי של חומרים אשר נמצאו בדרכם וסגנונם הייחודי בטכניקות שונות, תוך שילוב חלקים כגון סדרות עבודות על נייר אשר מייצגות איגרות דואר שנשלחו בין ישראל ושוודיה, זיכרונות גרוסים בצורת גזירי נייר, ציורי קיר, עבודות טקסט, גרביים ישנות על נושא כאבי רפאים, וכמו כן כמה אנקדוטות מקומיות ואישיות אחרות. הכמיהה לשמר את הזיכרון של האדם האהוב וניהול המורשת שלהם באופן אחראי הינה תופעה מאוד אנושית ואוניברסאלית. השאלות הקיומיות העמוקות אשר הפרויקט בודק מאחדות אנשים מרקעים שונים ולכן יכול לשבור גבולות תרבותיים וחסמים רגשיים. התערוכה נתמכת על ידי הוועדה השוודית למענקים אמנותיים.
“Eternal Digital Detox” is an immersive installation about the abundance of traces we leave behind us when we die, and the big question is how relatives should negotiate about what to keep and what to erase. After the shock and grief of a sudden bereavement it is not an easy task to be responsible for a legacy in the form of huge collections of all kinds of objects and massive amounts of digital data. Being rational in a situation like this is certainly not an easy decision for a mourning person who has to act quickly, and it makes it worse that these decisions are often regretted when more time has passed. This universal topic is interpreted by the artist brothers in a very distinct combination of found material and their own characteristic style in various techniques, combining parts like a series of works on paper that represents vintage aerogrammes sent between Israel and Sweden, shredded memories in the form of hand cut paper stripes, wall drawings, text based works, old socks on the topic of phantom pain, as well as several other local and personal anecdotes. The desire to maintain the memory of a loved one and the responsible management of their legacy is a very universal and human phenomenon. The deep existential questions that the project investigates unites people with different backgrounds and can thus also break cultural boundaries and mental barriers. Sebastian Mügge (b. 1981 in Bonn, DE) is a German-Swedish multidisciplinary artist currently based in Kristianstad, SE. He received his MFA from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. In his practice he works in the intersection of drawing, found objects, sculpture and installation.
Christoph Mügge works with drawing, painting, sculpture and installation. In his recent work, he uses trashcans and various discarded materials to examine ideas of ephemerality, over-stimulation, surplus, and overproduction. Mügge studied at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Richard Deacon, graduating in 2013.
